''Faithful'' is a book co-written by Stephen King and Stewart O'Nan. It chronicles exchanges between King and O'Nan about the Red Sox's season, beginning with an e-mail in summer 2003, and throughout the 2004 season, from Spring Training to the World Series. The book was dedicated to the memory of Victoria Snelgrove, an Emerson College student who was killed during the massive celebrations after the 2004 ALCS, when she was shot in the face with pepper pellets by police officers that had been improperly trained and had responded with excessive force.〔(Suffolk County's D.A.'s Office: Press Office )〕 On May 4, 2007, the ''Boston Globe'' announced that HBO would be adapting it into a six-part miniseries for 2008.〔(Red Sox brass make pitch for star treatment in HBO's 'Faithful' )〕〔(Red Sox "Faithful" Comes To HBO )〕 In September 2008, King wrote, "The script is just goddamn hilarious." Books to Benefit will publish a 10th Anniversary limited edition of the book in the fall of 2014, with at least 30% of the proceeds going to The Haven Foundation.〔http://www.bookstobenefit.com/books/faithful/〕 ==References==
